I appreciate that you've taken a step towards adding support for multiple currencies, but it seems at this point that it's just a field for noting what currency symbol to use for each client, and there's no business logic behind it.
Right now, all currencies apparently are valued at 1:1. If I bill one client $1000 for a job, and another client ¥100,000 for another job, iRatchet shows I've made $101,000 when in fact I've made about $1900.
At the very least, currency subtotals should be segregated. Ideally there would also be exchange-rate support. There are a few ways to approach this. Using my old-school spreadsheet bookkeeping, I track exchange rates per monthly invoice as a way to reckon actual income. But for US tax purposes, I also need to obtain the "official" $/¥ exchange rate at the end of the year for declaring my income. |
