Yep, they are MacWare approached me awhile ago wanting to rebrand iRatchet to 'box' it, and place it in Apple stores, Frys, etc. Obviously, this was of interest to me; who wouldn't want their shareware app on retail shelves.
I was very clear that I plan to continue iRatchet, and retained all rights to continue developing iRatchet. What wasn't as clear to me, was that macware intended to provide a downloadable version of MacFreelance. The fact that both iRatchet and MacFreelance are available side by side - and at different prices, is certainly confusing.
What I plan to do about it:
1. iRatchet is still alive and well, and will be the main development branch.
2. I'll probably adjust the iRatchet price to match that of MacFreelance. Again, I didn't catch macwares intent to provide a downloadable version, and their price wasn't set till late. Regardless, it's confusing and I'll clear it up.
3. These two apps will stay in sync. Any now feature added to iRatchet will find it's way into MacFreelance.
So that's it - there's the story. Sorry for the confusion all - it caught me a bit off guard too. Rest assured, iRatchet is alive and well - or if you're a new customer and like the name MacFreelance better...

P.S. I know I've been lagging on monitoring this forum. I'll change that very soon. I've simply been buried lately with personal/family issues that are sorting themselves out. |
